Project background
As a design intern, I worked amongst senior designers and art directors to produce a range of deliverables such as eDMs, social media posts and ad content. The purpose was to help maintain and build the humm brand recognition as it rapidly develops and expands.
How we worked
As a design intern, I worked amongst senior designers, the marketing team and the digital team to produce a range of deliverables such as eDMs, social media posts and ad content. The purpose was to help maintain and build the humm brand recognition as it rapidly develops and expands. I got hands-on experience with a range of softwares and learnt a lot from the team.
I got a lot of autonomy with driving brand messages (Brand Crush)
A lot of the time there was flexibility with the execution and I got to try out different ways of communicating marketing messages. In particular was Brand Crush for humm90 which ended up being an intern-driven project. We lightened up the palettes and experimented with interesting imagery to create a new look and feel as we shifted humm90 to be more warm and inviting for the audience.
I drove the visual consistency throughout the social media
Adjusting the look and feel across the different brands that we managed.

I also spearheaded the design of eDMs across three different brands
Across humm, humm90 and bundll, I was able to take primary designer roles to create marketed eDMs to communicate offers and cashbacks which were seen by 50,000+ people. Constantly jumping between different brands in a fast-paced environment allowed me to quickly refine my understanding of how to communicate messages and highlight key offers.
I contributed to tangible results…

Reflection
Being able to work in an experienced team across a wide range of jobs meant exposure to new workflows and more technical skills. I thoroughly enjoyed the collaborative team environment and picked up new perspectives on how a designer fits into the entire marketing cycle.
